Our most important aim is to support, guide and advise students in order to make them a confident and independent young person, able to make well informed, realistic careers decisions.

We strive to inspire and motivate our students in all year groups in order to fulfil their potential.  We adhere to the Careers Strategy and the 8 Gatsby Benchmarks in order to help every student develop high aspiration and consider a broad and ambitious range of careers, this is done whilst reflecting Hinckley Academy’s ethos of Learners First, It’s About Learning, No Barriers.


At Hinckley Academy  we will provide a range of activities in the form of:

  • Careers based Assemblies
  • PHSE lesson -  Options at Year 9, 11 & 13, Career, Employability & Local Labour market information  
  • Employer lead Mock Interviews
  • Face to Face support, advice and guidance
  • Impartial Careers meeting with the Careers Adviser from Year 10
  • Access to online tools and resources and a large range of educational literature and careers websites
  • Motivational guest speakers
  • HAJC6 Annual Careers Evening
  • External careers and apprenticeship roadshows
  • University days
  • Visits from local Employers, FE College & Universities
  • Opportunities to visit Events and College open days
  • Work experience week or a virtual work experience programme from Year 10
