KS4 Options Evening

This event will take place on 08/02/2022

GCSE Options Information Evening

As our students consider their GCSE options, we encourage them to think about the subjects they currently enjoy, new areas of interest and ultimately their career aspirations. We aim to empower our students to make the right choices for them and their future, providing them with the careers guidance, course information and additional support to make an informed and personal decision.

It is with this specialist support in mind that I would like to warmly invite you and your family to our KS4 Options Information Evening on Tuesday 8th February, 6pm-8pm to support the GCSE option process. This event is an invaluable opportunity to gather information to support informed decision-making and I encourage everyone to attend.

During our Options Information Evening students and their families will be able to visit subject stalls based in our Sixth Form Centre. At each stall our subject staff will be on hand to answer your questions, share an insight into the GCSE curriculum and show examples of GCSE work.

In addition, visitors will also have the opportunity to listen to a presentation regarding the options process, which will answer frequently asked questions and explain the options timeline in more detail.  The presentation will be held in the Main Hall, at 6.00pm and repeated at 7.00pm

The evening is designed to summarise the options process and to elaborate on the contents of the KS4 Options Curriculum Guide, a copy of which will be given to all Year 9 students w/b 31st January.  The Curriculum Guide will also be accessible via our website, alongside a series of short subject videos to further aid decision-making. Subject videos will be placed on our website on Tuesday 8th February.

The deadline for the option choices form to be submitted is Friday 18th March 2022.

We would like to reassure you that COVID-19 precautions will be taken throughout the evening to once again prioritise the safety of our community, and we ask that you wear a face mask during the event. In the event that we need to cancel the evening, due to a change in Government guidelines, we will inform you of this at the earliest opportunity.

In the meantime, if you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact Nathan Bennett – Assistant Principal nbennett@hajc.leics.sch.uk

We look forward to welcoming you and your family to our KS4 Options Evening on Tuesday 8th February.

Yours faithfully,

Azizah Pathan

Vice Principal
